ATTENTION: In the summer term 2012 it is impossible to reserve a room in the university's student residence. 1. Student housing The most affordable form of accommodation is in one of the university's student residence buildings. The first month costs 258 €. Rent is reduced to ca. 210 € each month thereafter. Rooms are equipped with the basics: bed, table, chair, shelves, wardrobe and wash basin. A bathroom and kitchen are located at the end of each hall and are shared between a maximum of 8 others. There is no internet access in any of the buildings. Rooms may only be rented for a minimum of one month. Bedding and dishes are not provided and can be borrowed from WipDaF for a fee of 5 €. WiPDaF collects a deposit of 100 € that is refunded either upon moving out or after signing a contract between you and the Studentenwerk. 2. Private housing Private housing, such as in a flat with roommates (Wohngemeinschaft, WG), is another housing option available through WiPDaF. Our organization also has access to a small number of private apartments that are able to be rented out by our participants during their stay. Prices range from 250-300 €. Homestays Living with a host family provides participants with a unique opportunity to become immersed in the German language, culture and daily life. Homestays can be booked on an individual basis, regardless of your intended duration of stay, and cost 300 €/three weeks or 370 €/four weeks. Rent is reduced to 320 |
